There are times in every man’s life when he feels like he has to change his look to let go of the boy in him. We all feel like we have to look our age and end up looking silly if we try to wear clothes from our youth. There is also a time when we don’t want to let go of those things and wonder if we can still pull them off to dress in things like baseball caps.

Luckily, we don’t have to give up fitted hats as long as we are smart about when and where to wear things.in other words, you can still wear a baseball cap as long as you follow a few simple rules. In this article, we will go over several of the things to keep in mind if you want to wear a baseball cap.

1. Slightly dressed up

There are times when you wear a baseball cap and it looks slightly frumpy and a little bit too casual. This means that there are times when you simply can’t wear a baseball cap. However, there is an irony in there somewhere.

There are times when you are dressed in a casual formal way and wearing a baseball cap actually pulls the whole thing together. For instance, if you are wearing a blazer with a button-down shirt you can then add some chino slacks, dock shoes and, yes, even a baseball cap.

This is a look that you wouldn’t try to wear to work or to a formal event. Yet, if you are going somewhere that has a laid-back atmosphere but you are still expected to dress up smartly without being formal then this is going to work. For instance, a work party in the summer in which you wouldn’t want to dress as if it were any other weekend and you’re out with your pals. Yet, you still don’t need to dress as if you are going to a ball or to work.

2. Running errands

Everybody has one of those Saturday mornings when you roll out of bed late with bed head but need to run errands. There’s no time to waste so taking a shower is not an option.

This is the ideal time to wear a baseball cap. Not only is it going to cover up your bed head until you can get back home to take a shower, but it will also look good if you wear one that is in decent shape and not the ratty one from your college days.

3. Make it unique

Since baseball caps have become a fashion accessory, you aren’t limited to wearing your Red Sox one. You can actually make a fashion statement by wearing one made out of a material that you wouldn’t associate with a baseball cap like wool, or even hemp.

You can have one custom made with a phrase you particularly like embroidered on it as well.
